In recent years, there’s been a noticeable shift towards natural beauty products, and for good reason. Personally, I believe choosing natural and eco-friendly products isn’t just beneficial for our health, but also makes a significant impact on the environment. That’s why I offer Cream Deodorant Balm in my online store. But why do I recommend balm or cream formulations? And are the traditional deodorants really harmful to our skin and the planet?
The Harms of Conventional Deodorants to Health and the Environment
Many conventional deodorants and antiperspirants contain chemicals such as aluminium. Aluminium works by blocking sweat glands to prevent sweating, but this interferes with our body’s natural processes. Moreover, there are concerns that aluminium could increase the risk of breast cancer in the long term, though more research is needed. Other common ingredients like parabens and synthetic fragrances are also known to cause skin irritation.
From an environmental perspective, the impact of traditional deodorants is also troubling. Many come in plastic packaging, which is difficult to recycle. Furthermore, some ingredients in these products don’t biodegrade, contributing to environmental pollution.
Why Natural Ingredients and Balm/Cream Formulations Are Better
The Cream Deodorant Balm products I recommend are made from entirely natural and vegan ingredients. For instance, the inclusion of nourishing oils such as mango butter and cocoa butter helps keep the skin moisturised without causing irritation. I also use Vitamin E, which supports the overall health of your skin. This formula keeps you feeling fresh while allowing your body’s natural processes to function as they should.
I’ve also made sure to craft my balms without bicarbonate of soda (bicarb), which is often a common irritant for those with sensitive skin. Many people experience dryness or discomfort with bicarb-based deodorants, so I offer a bicarb-free formula to ensure a gentler experience for all skin types.
Less Plastic, More Sustainability
One of my key goals is to reduce plastic use as much as possible. That’s why my deodorants come in environmentally friendly, recyclable packaging. By choosing these products, you’re not only making a healthier choice for your skin but also contributing to the reduction of plastic waste, making it a win for the planet too.
Natural deodorants are a much better choice than their chemical-laden, plastic-packaged counterparts — for your health and for the environment. If you’d like to try them yourself, you can explore the range of cream deodorant balms in my shop.
Many thanks,
